The Foggy Dew
The Foggy Dew: We remember with fondness this Easter season, Canon Charles O’Neill, who wrote the famous Irish ballad, ‘The Foggy Dew’ around 1919 when he was Parish Priest of Kilcoo. Canon O’Neill later became Parish Priest here in the Parish of Maghera, and died in 18th May 1963. He is buried in the priest’s plot at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newcastle. May he rest in the peace of Christ.
