Parish Mission:

PARISH MISSION.
Many of you who attended our volunteer lunch on Sunday 24th January had the
opportunity to meet with Fr. Brendan McManus, a Jesuit based in Belfast, who is
the author of the book, ‘Redemption Road’. We are delighted to say he has
agreed to lead our parish mission this coming Lent (Friday 11th March to Tuesday
15th March). The themes of the mission will be related to the Year of Mercy, the
Pontificate of Pope Francis and also will reflect on bereavement and suicide. Fr
Brendan McManus will speak at every Mass over the Mission period.
Friday 11th March As part of our mission we are organizing a special visit to
the Door of Mercy at St. Patrick’s Parish in Belfast, as well as to Clonard
Monastery. Mass will be celebrated at 7pm in St Patrick’s Church, Bryansford.
Saturday 12th March 10am Mass. At 2pm a showing of the film “The Way”
starring Martin Sheen and James Nesbitt will take place in the Parish Centre. 6pm
Mass. Fr Brendan will preach at all weekend masses.
Sunday 13th March 8.30am, 10am & 11.30am Mass as usual. At 7pm in the
Parish Centre a presentation on Fr Brendan McManus’s book “Redemption Road”
will be given followed by a Q&A session with Fr Brendan plus Tea/Coffee & tray
bakes.
Monday 14th March 10am Mass. At 12pm Fr Brendan will visit St Malachy’s
High School. At 7pm we will celebrate through Taizé worship.
Tuesday 15th March 10am Mass. Fr Brendan will visit some of the sick. At 7pm
we will be holding our Penitential Service with visiting Priests in Our Lady of the
Assumption Church.
