Parish Mission

Many of you who attended our volunteer lunch on Sunday 24th January had the opportunity to meet with Fr. Brendan McManus, a Jesuit based in Belfast, who is the author of the book, ‘Redemption Road’. We are delighted to say he has agreed to lead our parish mission this coming Lent (Friday 11th March to Tuesday 15th March). The themes of the mission will be related to the Year of Mercy, the Pontificate of Pope Francis and also will reflect on bereavement and suicide.

On Friday 11th March, as part of our mission launch, we are organizing a special visit to the Door of Mercy at St. Patrick’s Parish in Belfast, as well as to Clonard Monastery, where Fr. Brendan Keane will meet us. A coach will be organized to bring a group of up to 50 pilgrims. The day will start with morning mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10.00am, followed by complimentary tea/coffee/scones for those travelling. The bus will depart the parish centre at 11.45am and return at 6.30pm. A light lunch of soup and sandwiches will be provided at Belfast Castle.

The cost for the full day is £20. Bookings will be allocated to the first 50 applications with full payment. Please contact Brenda at the parish office for further details or to book your place.
