Our Lady of the Assumption Church,Newcastle: Holy Thursday, 24th March, No Morning Mass. Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7:00pm followed by Adoration until 9:30pm; concluding with night prayer. Church Preparation for Holy Week.
In order to celebrate the events of Holy Week in a more meaningful way, this year we will draw from an ancient custom in the church which many of you will remember, that from Palm Sunday through to the Easter Vigil, we are covering all the statues and images of Jesus, Mary and the Saints in penitential purple cloth, so as to more readily enter into the great mysteries of our faith, Christ's life, death and resurrection. This will heighten our senses to the absence of sacrame


Pilgrimage in the Steps of the Northern Saints, England. Monday 3 October to Sunday 9 October 2016.
Building on the success of our pilgrimage last year to Turkey, we are pleased to announce that this year we plan to venture a little closer to home in learning about the lives of the great saints who lived in the North of England. We will travel with an expert in Celtic Christianity and our spiritual director, Fr. Colin Crossey, in discovering significant monastic foundations of Jurrow, Whitby, Rievaulx, Fountains and Jervaulx Abbeys, as well as spending a day on the Holy Isl


Parish Mission:
PARISH MISSION. Many of you who attended our volunteer lunch on Sunday 24th January had the opportunity to meet with Fr. Brendan McManus, a Jesuit based in Belfast, who is the author of the book, ‘Redemption Road’.
