The Parish Pastoral Council

The Maghera Parish Pastoral Council members work in collaboration with the priests of the parish to identify the pastoral needs of the parishioners and to plan how best to meet those needs. After consultation with parishioners, the Pastoral Council has identified the current priorities as:

• Faith Development
• Family Life
• Liturgy
• Youth

Parish Centre

This newly erected centre, situated at 14 Main Street, Newcastle, was officially opened on 20 October 2002 by Most Rev A Farquhar, Auxilliary Bishop of Down and Connor. The centre provides a coffee shop, a shop selling religious objects, books, cards, etc as well as a clothes shop where you may buy or donate good quality used clothing. The centre also provides facilities for the meetings/conferences held by a range of parish gorups as well as outside agencies and organisations.
